James Bursey is a visual artist who uses bold colour and graphic lines to represent humanity, spirit and soul. His paintings explore mortality, technology and subconscious reality. He uses overlapping layers of colour to build out a space for unique characters to live in.

James’ work leverages the human tendency to personify objects. His depictions of facial expression and body are self-portraits, but also portraits of people around the world in various stages of life, thus representing the humanity of all people.
